Off-site XC Trail Report
The Forest Service is constantly maintaining the Fire Service Roads and Trails. Some may be closed periodically. For more information on trails in the San Bernardino area, visit our trail map or the Trail Foundation’s website.
Road Conditions
3 Ways to Big Bear - Highway 330 (the Front Road) is the most direct route to Big Bear. Highway 38 from Redlands is the most scenic route. Highway 18 from Lucerne Valley (“Desert Way”) has the least amount of mountain driving. For the most up-to-date information on road conditions visit Caltrans’ website.

Hwy. 38: (Redlands) SR 38 1-WAY CONTROLLED TRAFFIC at various locations from 15 Mi East of JCT 10 to SR18 at Big Bear City from 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. Monday – Sat until 11/7/14  DUE TO MAINTENANCE
Hwy. 18: (Lucerne Valley) 1-way controlled traffic at various locations 8 mi North of Big Bear City to 7.8 M South of the 247 from 8:00am – 4pm Monday –Thurs and from 8am-12pm Fri until 11/7/14 DELAYS OF UP TO 15 MINUTES
