Big Bear Lake

The Big Bear Valley is a four-season mountain resort community. The lake provides exceptional fishing, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, canoeing and kayaking. There are lovely lakeside wooded parks, numerous private boat rental marinas and two public boat-launch ramps.

Lodging

Finding a comfortable place to stay in the Town of Big Bear Lake is easy with approximately 15,000 beds available. The hard part is choosing among the many options, such as bed and breakfast inns, hotels, motels, condominiums, resort lodges, resort cabins, private homes, cabins and hostels. Shopping

A variety of charming boutiques and shops can be found in and around town to the delight of browsers and buyers alike. Many shops are located in the Village, with quite a few others throughout the Valley. Decor and retail items in the shops reflect the rich local history of gold mining, summer and winter recreation activities, and appreciation of the beautiful natural environment.

Restaurants & Night Life

Over 70 dining establishments in the Big Bear Valley offer everything from fast food to elegant dining and some local restaurants even provide home delivery. A number of places including several coffeehouses offer dancing, live entertainment, karaoke, and billiards. Take a leisurely stroll around The Village, do a little shopping, stop by the Ice Cream Shop or sit down for an enjoyable dining experience in a true Alpine atmosphere. There are two theaters in the village with five screens that feature some of the latest first-run movies. You will also find a video game arcade and a bowling alley for added entertainment.

Bicycle Rentals

Mountain biking at its best! Take a short trip on the Sky Chair to the top of the mountain and ride down one of many scenic trails Big Bear has to offer. Bike rentals will be available right here at our base area this Summer.

Camping

Pineknot Campground is located only a few hundred yards from Snow Summit’s base area. There are many other campgrounds in the Big Bear Lake area, most within a short drive from Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. For camping reservations, contact Reserve America at (877) 444-6777. Call the Big Bear Discovery Center at (909) 866-3437 for more information on camping.
