Big Bear Mountain Resorts Celebrates Another Successful Season
April 12, 2009
Snowfall for 2008/2009 Season over 120 inches!
(Big Bear Lake, CA – April 12, 2009) – With a cumulative snowfall for the season at over 120 inches and solid attendance, Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR) is celebrating another successful season for 2008/2009.
“This season has been a surprise in many ways; our natural snowfall was the best we have seen in over a decade and our solid attendance reaffirms that our visitors appreciate our close proximity and numerous offerings,” said Chris Riddle, Director of Marketing for Big Bear Mountain Resorts. "We were a bit cautious entering the season due to the economic considerations, but all-in-all the season didn’t disappoint.”
Bear Mountain Snow Sports School is closed for the season and Bear Mountain's last day of operation is Sunday April 12th. Bear-Only Season Passes are valid at Snow Summit through the rest of the 2008/2009 winter season.
Snow Summit expects to be open through Saturday, April 18th and has a full compliment of services including ski and snowboard school, restaurants and bars, and the most open terrain in Southern California.
New and exciting spring activities are expected in early May with the thaw of the snow. Following a near perfect snow-filled winter, Big Bear Lake will be in full bloom. Enjoy cooler temperatures, the bursting colors of wildflowers, spectacular lake views from 8,200 feet in the Snow Summit Scenic Sky Chair, tee-off at the Bear Mountain Golf Course offering a complete driving range and 9-hole course and enjoy the mountain views while hiking and biking extensive trails; it’s a great way to spend an hour or the entire day.
