Coming off a great 2010-2011 winter season, BBMR invites outdoor enthusiasts to ditch their winter gear and head up to the mountain for golfing, hiking, and biking.
“During the summer months, BBMR transforms into one of Southern California’s premier outdoor playgrounds,” said Chris Riddle, director of marketing for Big Bear Mountain Resorts. “We’re excited to get guests up to the mountain for golfing, hiking, biking and rides on the Scenic Sky Chair, all while enjoying spectacular views of Big Bear Lake and the entire valley.”

Scenic Sky Chair Takes You to the Top
The Scenic Sky Chair at Snow Summit brings riders directly to the top of the mountain to take in the views and natural beauty of Big Bear Lake and the surrounding area. The Scenic Sky Chair is open to all ages and takes about 15 minutes to transport guests from the base elevation of 7,000 feet to a summit elevation of 8,200 feet. Once at the top, guests can enjoy a BBQ lunch at the View Haus. The Sky Chair will open weekends only, beginning Saturday, May 21, weather and conditions permitting, and will open daily beginning June 18.
Biking & Hiking for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Snow Summit and the surrounding area provide an expansive network of trails and roads, most of which are fantastic for cross-country biking and hiking. The Scenic Sky Chair provides easy access to alternative routes down the mountain.
For novice bike riders, the Bristlecone Trail and Towne Trail offer gentle, rolling terrain at the base of the mountain that is a perfect introduction to mountain biking. Intermediate riders will find terrain that is slightly more challenging from the top of the Scenic Sky Chair including Skyline Drive, which rolls across the top of the ridge with great views of Big Bear Lake.
