Cali4nia Pass FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

What is the Cali4nia Pass?
Big Bear Mountain Resorts has entered into a reciprocal pass program with Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. The resulting season pass offering is called the Cali4nia Pass. The pass is valid for unlimited skiing and riding at Bear Mountain, Snow Summit, Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain. The pass has no blackout dates. The Cali4ornia Pass will have all the benefits of the Bear + Summit Anytime Pass for the 2014/15 winter season, plus the benefits of the Mammoth MVP Pass. The program is open to the public. 2014/15 MVP Passes have been upgraded to the 2014/15 Cali4nia Pass.
What ski resorts are included in the Cali4nia Pass?
The Cali4nia Pass includes Snow Summit Mountain Resort and Bear Mountain Resort, both located in Big Bear Lake, California, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, June Mountain Ski Area, both located in the Eastern Sierra Mountains.
Are there any blackout days for the Cali4nia Pass?
No.
What other benefits are offered to passholders?
When using your pass at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, you will receive 20% off rentals, lessons, food and beverage (excluding alcohol) and retail purchases. Plus 10-15% off select lodging in the Big Bear Valley. When using your pass at Mammoth or June Mountains, you will receive discounts on lodging, discounted lift tickets for friends, 10% off purchases of $100 or more at retail stores, discounts on equipment rentals up to 10%, discounts for amazing events like concerts, winemaker dinners and more. Summer benefits included 50% off Mountain Bike Park Season Passes & Day Passes and Free Scenic Sky Chair rides for passes purchased during the Spring sale. Summer benefits are only available for the summer prior to when the winter season pass is valid.

When am I eligible for Cali4nia Pass benefits?
Big Bear passes are valid from their opening day through the final day of the 2014/15 winter season. Refer Passholders are eligible for any benefits during the time the pass itself is valid. Passes will be valid at Mammoth from date of purchase through July 6, 2015. Refer to www.cali4niapass.com and www.bigbearmountainresorts.com for details.
When is the Cali4nia Pass on sale for the 14/15 season?
The Cali4nia Pass for adults will be on sale starting on September 27, 2014 for a limited time only. Buying early ensures the best price.
What is the price breakdown for the Cali4nia Pass by age groups?
Adult – $689 / Senior – $369 / Youth – $519 / Child – $199. Pricing will increase soon. Purchasing early will ensure the best price.
What are the age ranges for the Cali4nia Pass?
Adult – 19-64 / Senior – 65-79 / Youth – 13-18 / Child – 5-12. Children 4 and under are free. Ages are determined as of November 13, 2014. Note Age ranges differ from traditional BBMR Passes.
If I have a purchased a pass at Big Bear Mountain Resort, is it now valid at Mammoth?
You will need to upgrade your Pass to the Cali4nia Pass. You will need to pay any difference in price from your original purchase to the price of the Cali4nia Pass. Please refer to www.bigbearmountainresort.com for further information in pass pricing. The current Cali4nia pass pricing is only available for a limited time, so be sure to make upgrades as soon as possible.
How do I purchase my Cali4nia Pass?
Purchase from Big Bear Mountain Resorts at www.snowsummit.com , call 909-866-5766 or in person at the Bear Mountain event Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails on Sept. 27th at the Season Pass Window. Purchase from Mammoth online at www.cali4niapass.com, call 800.MAMMOTH, or at any ticket window.
What are my payment options?
We highly recommend using a credit card to purchase your pass because it is the only way to guarantee that we have your order. Bear Resorts accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card. Mammoth Mountain accepts Visa, MasterCard or American Express with online purchases.
Is there a payment plan for Cali4nia Pass?
No.
Is entering my credit card information online safe?
Yes. We use the latest encryption methods to make sure that your personal information is safe and every transaction is secure.
What will I need with me to pick up my pass?
A valid photo ID is required to pick up your pass. Youth, child and senior passes will require proof of age (i.e. copy of birth certificate, passport, driver's license, etc.) at the time of pick up. The identification you present must show your appropriate age on or before November 13, 2014. New passholders must have their photo taken to pick up their pass. For your security, photos must be taken on-site and in person, which means we cannot accept mailed-in photos. Goggles and Beanies may not be worn in pass photos. You do not need to bring your pass to pick up your pass at the partner resorts. Eligibility will be displayed in your purchase history, viewable to the ticket window staff.

When will my new Cali4nia Pass be valid?
Cali4nia Passes will be valid at Big Bear Mountain Resorts on opening day, historically mid-November, weather and conditions permitting. Cali4nia Passes will be valid at Mammoth Mountain on opening day, November 13, 2014.
How do I use my Cali4nia Pass at Big Bear Mountain Resorts?
Regardless of where your pass was purchased, guests will need to pick up one card to be used at Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain Ski Area and one to be used at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit Ski Resorts. Guests will need to go to a ticket window at Mammoth or June and the Season Pass Window at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit and present valid picture identification to pick up cards for use at the appropriate resorts. Eligibility will be displayed in your purchase history, viewable to the ticket window staff. Pictures will be taken for both passes, so be sure to comb your hair. Fyi, goggles and beanies can not be worn in pass photos. Guests who renewed their MVP passes from 2013/14 or have already picked up their new MVP passes for the 2014/2015 season can continue to use those cards at Mammoth and June. Will I have one pass that works at both Mammoth Ski Area and Big Bear Mountain Resort?
Not for the 2014/15 season. MVP passholders, upgraded to the Calif4nia Pass, and new Cali4nia Pass purchasers will need one card to ski at Mammoth and June and one to ski at Bear and Snow Summit. Guests with existing MVP passes will use their existing passes at Mammoth and June. They will need to go to the Season Pass window at either Bear Mountain or Snow Summit on their first visit to a Big Bear Mountain Resort.
Can I use my Cali4nia Pass at June Mountain?
Yes.
Can I use my Mammoth College Pass at the Big Bear Mountain Resorts?
No. The Mammoth College pass is a product specific to Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and can not be used at Big Bear Resorts. Because it is a Mammoth Mountain Ski Area product, it can be used at June Mountain Ski Area.
Can I use Mammoth Bring A Friend Tickets at Big Bear Mountain Resorts?
No. Bring A Friend Tickets are a Mammoth ticket product, valid only at Mammoth and June Mountains.
Can I use my Mammoth Mountain Pass Cash at Big Bear Mountain Resorts?
No. Pass Cash is a Mammoth Mountain Ski Area product, valid only at Mammoth and June Mountains.
Can I use my Mammoth Mountain Resort Credits at Big Bear Mountain Resorts?
No. Resort Credits are a Mammoth Mountain Ski Area award, valid only at Mammoth and June Mountains.
Can I use my Mammoth Mountain Gift Cards at Big Bear Mountain Resorts?
No. Mammoth Gift Cards are a Mammoth Mountain Ski Area product, valid only at Mammoth and June Mountains.
Can I use my Big Bear Resort Gift Cards at Mammoth Mountain Resorts?
No. Big Bear Gift Cards are a Big Bear Mountain Resort product, valid only at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.
May I use my Mammoth Courtesy Vouchers to purchase a Cali4nia Pass?
No. Courtesy Vouchers do not have cash value. They are only valid toward the purchase of another day of skiing, rentals or ski school lessons— not season passes. However, vouchers are transferable so you may pass them on to someone who will be able to use them.
I have a Mountain Collective Can I use it at Big Bear Mountain Resorts?
No. Big Bear Mountain Resorts are not a Ski Area participating in the Mountain collective program for 2014/14.
May I use a Mammoth Gift Card to purchase my Cali4nia Pass?
Yes.
I look nothing like my picture from last season. Can I get another one taken?
Yes. You may have your photo taken at the Season Pass Office at big Bear Mountain Resorts or the ticket window at Mammoth Resorts. Please bring your pass with you along with a photo ID to get a new photo. For your security, photos must be taken on-site, in person, which means we will not accept mailed-in photos.
I would like to buy passes now and assign names later. Is that possible?
Cali4nia passes are non-transferable and must have a name assigned to them at the time of purchase. Once purchased, passes are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person or season.
What Season Passes can I purchase if I miss this sales window?
The current sale is the guaranteed lowest price on unrestricted skiing and riding during the 2014/15 season. The pass will still be available for sale after the initial discounted period, but not at the same price.
Pass Fraud Policy
The Pass is non-assignable, non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person or time period beyond the terms of the Pass. There are no exceptions. Use of a Pass by anyone other than the guest names on the Pass shall constitute fraud and will result in the immediate loss of all lift and skiing/riding privileges, at both Mammoth and Big Bear Resorts, without compensation and may result in criminal prosecution.
What if I lose my pass?
There is a fee for replacing a lost pass. Simply bring a photo ID with you to the Season Pass window during business hours for a replacement pass.
What if I forget my pass?
There is a fee for replacing a forgotten pass. Simply bring a photo ID with you to the Season Pass window during business hours for a replacement pass.
Why is a youth pass valid for ages 13-18?
The age of 18 as the upper limit on a youth pass based on the average age of most high school seniors. Eighteen is the age of a legal adult.
Do I get a free Season Pass for my child that is under 6 years old?
Children 6 and under ski/ride free at BBMR so you just need proof of age and pay a $20 processing fee.
I'm over 80 years old. Do I get a free Season Pass?
Season passes for seniors incur a $20 processing fee, with proof of age. 80 and over passes can only be purchased at a ticket counter or through 909-866-5766. There is no time limit to purchase an 80 and over pass. This is only valid for the Cali4nia Pass not BBMR only passes.
My children take lessons during most ski trips. Should I buy passes for them?
Lift tickets are included in some lessons packages at Big Bear Mountain Resorts, please refer to www.bigbearmountainresorts.com for more information. Please note: Private lessons require a ticket/pass.
Can I get a refund on my pass?
There are NO REFUNDS on Season Passes – even if the Season Pass is never picked up or used. The only exception to the NO REFUND policy is for those who opt to purchase Season Pass Protection. Mammoth Mountain offers this voluntary, opt-in program to help you protect your purchase. By purchasing Season Pass Protection, you may be able to receive a refund on all or a portion of the cost of your Pass if you are unable to begin or finish the 2014-2015 winter season in the event of documented injury/illness, pregnancy, relocation (some restrictions apply) or military deployment. Pass Insurance is offered and recommended on Cali4nia Passes. Pass Insurance is not available on other BBMR products.
If I decide not to use my Cali4nia Pass in 2014/2015, can I transfer it to next year?
No. Once purchased, passes are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person or season. Please consider purchasing Pass Insurance to protect your investment.
My child is under 5 in the 2014/2015 season. Will they be able to get Cali4nia Pass pricing in future years?
Yes.
Can someone else pick up my pass for me?
No.

Snow Summit / Bear Mountain Season Pass FAQs

Are Season Passes refundable or transferable?
No. Season Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Allowing another person to use your pass is cause for immediate revocation.
How do I pick up my Season Pass?
If you are a returning Season Pass Holder you just pay and go! No need to stop by the office unless you would prefer a new photo. Your 2014-2015 Pass is all you will need. Passes are renewable if you purchase the same pass type. The exception is the Midweek Plus passes since that pass is no longer available.

For your convenience, Dual Mountain and Bear Mountain Only Passes may be picked up during the summer at Snow Summit. Season Pass Office hours during the summer are based upon Sky Chair operations. Please call: 909-866-5766.

During the winter season, Dual Mountain season pass holders may pick up passes and have photos taken in the Season Pass Office at Snow Summit. Bear Mountain Only season pass holders may pick up passes and have photos taken at the Season Pass counter located downstairs in the Ticket Sales building at Bear Mountain. Winter office hours are daily when in full operation.
What if I cannot pick up my Season Pass before the winter season?
You can come to the Snow Summit or Bear Mountain Season Pass Office on your first visit of the winter season.
Are there ways to buy passes other than online?
Yes, you can purchase your pass on-site. Please download and complete the Season Pass Order Form. (2.6mb in PDF format.) and bring it to the season pass office during office hours.
If I am a previous Season Pass holder am I required to have a new photo?
No, but we do advise new photos every 2 years for children and every 3 years for adults.
Is my Season Pass good during the summer?
2014/2015 Dual Mountain season passes are valid for scenic rides only on the Snow Summit Scenic Sky Chair this summer. (Mountain bike tickets and passes may be purchased for 50% off.)
Can I complete the EZWaiver required by all Season Pass holders on the Internet to save time when picking up my pass?
Yes, just click on this link to fill out your EZ waiver and Season Pass Agreement information. This info will then be on file when you pay for you pass.
What are the Holiday blackout dates for the 2014-2015 Season Pass holders?
Nov. 27-28, 2014; Dec. 25 - Jan. 2, 2015.
Can I use my Dual Mountain Midweek season pass for night session on weekends and holidays?
Yes, ALL pass holders are invited to join us for night session whenever night session is available.

If I have a child 6 yrs and under and I purchase a pass can my 6 and under child still ski free?
Yes, just bring your Season Pass to the ticket window each time to receive your Free Child's ticket. Alternately, you can pay a $20.00 processing fee and receive the same type Season Pass as yours for your child.
If I lose my Season Pass is there a replacement fee?
Yes, if you lose your Season Pass you will pay a $50.00 replacement fee.
If I forget my Season Pass can I receive a free lift ticket for the day?
No, you will have to purchase a full-priced lift ticket (we apologize to our honest, forgetful friends; this policy is necessary in order to prevent fraud). We suggest keeping your Season Pass somewhere safe with your equipment (such as in your ski or snowboard boots).
If I have a Midweek Season Pass can I receive a discount on a lift ticket for myself on weekends and holidays?
Yes. Midweek Pass holders get 50% off on weekends and holidays.
Can I still get a free "Birthday Ticket" even if I have a Season Pass?
No. Season Pass holders are not eligible to receive a free "Birthday Ticket" when pass is valid.

What is a Gift Card?
A pre-paid debit card good for any service or product we provide at Big Bear Mountain Resorts. Lift tickets, rentals, lessons, food & beverages (excluding alcohol), golf, Summer, or in the sport shop.
How can I purchase a Gift Card?
You can order online, by phone or at any open ticket window.
Will it be mailed?
Yes, we send Gift Cards by certified mail unless you make the purchase on site.
Is there a mailing fee?
Yes, we charge a $5.00 mailing fee.
When can I expect delivery?
It takes 5-10 days. Once the order is completed, we fill it the next day and send it off in the mail. After that, it depends on the US Mail.
If I buy a Gift Card for someone can they pick it up at the Resort?
No, we do not hold Gift Cards.
Does my gift card expire?
No.
Can I get cash back?
No.
How can I check my balance?
You may check your balance at any open ticket window or by calling 909-866-5766 ext 241.
Can I order them at a store or mall?
No, Gift Cards can only be purchased from Big Bear Mountain Resorts.
Can I use Federal Express to send my Gift Card?
Yes, you would need to call us at 909-866-5766 ext 241 and give us a Fed Ex account number or pay a $15.00 Fed Ex charge (Continental U.S. only).
Will I need to have a reservation if I have a Gift Card?
Yes, even if you have a Gift Card this does not assure you a ticket if we are sold out.

Reservation FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Why are reservations recommended?
We limit our ticket sales in order to ensure that every customer will have a quality experience with limited lift lines.
Can I make a reservation and pay cash at the window?
No. Your credit card will be charged at the time of the reservation.
Will I be able to cancel my reservation?
Yes. You have up until the day before to cancel your reservation.
If I don't cancel and I am unable to use my tickets can I use them another time?
Yes. The tickets will remain in our system and you can use them another time. However if you plan to use them on a weekend or during a holiday period you need to call and reschedule (909) 866-5841.
How long does my reservation stay in the system?
We recommend using your tickets by the end of the following season.
What will I need to pick up my reservation?
You will need your credit card and driver's license or valid I.D.
Can I make a reservation and have someone else use them?
Yes however we request that you fill out this downloadable Reservation Authorization Form† authorizing someone else to pick up your tickets.
†The guest picking up the tickets will need bring the completed form and have an ID matching the name on the authorization.
Can I add on to my reservation at the window?
Yes, but only if we are not sold out.
Can I reserve a half-day or night session?
No. We do not sell half-day or night session tickets in advance since we cannot guarantee how many we will have or what time they will go on sale.
Can I reserve rentals?
Yes but only with a Lesson Package.
