Restaurants & Night Life

There are over 70 dining establishments in the Big Bear Valley, offering everything from fast food franchises to elegant dinner houses and several local restaurants that even offer home delivery. There are a number of places that offer dancing, live entertainment, karaoke, billiards, as well as several coffeehouses. The Village, with its wide sidewalks, attractive streetlights, signs and landscaping, is an enjoyable place to stroll around, do some shopping or stop at a restaurant for a meal. There are two theaters in the village with a total of five screens that feature all of the latest first-run movies. In the Village, you’ll also find two video game arcades and a bowling alley.

Big Bear Lake

The Big Bear Valley is a four season resort community. The lake provides exceptional fishing, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, canoeing and kayaking. There are lovely lakeside wooded parks, numerous private boat rental marinas and two public boat-launch ramps.

Lodging

Finding a comfortable place to stay in the town of Big Bear Lake is easy with approximately 15,000 beds available. The hard part is choosing among the many options, such as bed and breakfast inns, hotels, motels, condominiums, resort lodges, resort cabins, private homes, cabins and hostels. Shopping

A variety of intriguing shops and stores can be found in and around town to the delight of browsers and buyers. Many shops are located in the Village, with quite a few others throughout the Valley. Decor and retail items in the shops reflect the rich local history of gold mining, summer and winter recreation activities, and appreciation of the beautiful natural environment.

 

Bicycle Rentals

Mountain biking at its best.  Ride the Sky Chair to the top and then travel the scenic bike trails, or ride one of several Big Bear trails.  Bike rentals for all levels of riders are available from many of Big Bear’s fine sport shops.

Camping

Pineknot Campground is located only a few hundred yards from Snow Summit’s base area. There are many other campgrounds in the Big Bear Lake area, most within a short drive from Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. For camping reservations contact Reserve America at (877) 444-6777.
